The Estate

The Estate is situated on 40 acres of land with 10 acres of vines in the heart of the Essex Pelee Island Coast (EPIC) wine region, in Harrow, Ontario, Canada.
Originally planted in 1997, the vineyard sat unmaintained for a few years before Sam and Nancy bought it in 2008 and brought it back to life.
The land consists of fertile, light-textured soil that is the end result of millions of years of sedimentary deposits by glacial lakes. The sandy loam and gravel deposits are punctuated by small, irregular stony ridges, overlaying shale-limestone bedrock. It is a terroir conducive to growing quality grapes.
Opening its doors in June 2013, Paglione Estate Winery features Italian Tuscan-style architecture; complete with a clay tile roof, stone exterior, turret and a large patio with a wood burning pizza oven. Our open concept tasting room with simple, rustic furniture, Italian artisan gifts, and harvest tables, is the perfect place to relax with friends and family.
Enjoy a spontaneous serenade of live Italian music, an authentic espresso or cappuccino, an antipasti platter or wood-oven pizza, homemade gelato, or just savour a glass of wine in the tranquil setting.
